2025 was the pilot year for the project and records are still being supplied so these pages will change in the next few months. To date, we have 1206 records from 117 sites with records provided by 55 recorders and 24 of these recorders have not supplied records before on the NIFG database. The record sources are a mix of those generated on the official survey days, records sent directly to the NIFG and records entered on CEDaR Online, iRecord and iNaturalist.
| Record Source | No Records |
|---|---|
| Official Survey Days | 801 |
| iRecord/iNaturalist/CEDaR Online | 240 |
| Supplied to NIFG | 165 |
For the sites for which records were supplied, 57 sites had no previous records. In addition, four sites have now passed one of the SSSI/ASSI thresholds. They are:
- Agnew’s Hill in Antrim (19 waxcaps)
- Cushleake Mountain in Antrim (21 waxcaps and 6 earth tongues)
- Glendun Hill Farm in Antrim (20 waxcaps)
- Gortnagory in Antrim (20 waxcaps). This is a slightly larger site than the ASSI.
Three training courses were held – one field course at Binevenagh on 01/11/2025 (11 attendees), a microscope session at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum on 08/11/2025 (14 attendees) and a field course at the Curragh in Kildare on 17/11/2025 (6 attendees). Anyone was also welcome to come along on the official survey days and 76 people joined during these days although some joined on multiple occasions.
These pages give details of the sites surveyed and some of the special records made. See also the Sequencing Reports on the NIFG Downloads page.
